Who We Are
Hi, I’m Jules, the creator behind Baozai Friends! As an AAPI and neurodivergent girl, I’ve always been passionate about art and storytelling. I studied Studio Art at The University of Texas at Austin, and now I’m bringing that creativity into making plushies that feel like little companions full of love.
Baozai Friends actually began with my cat, Dusky. When I adopted her from Austin Pets Alive, she was instantly loving and full of charm. Even though she had ringworm when I brought her home (a treatable condition that made many people pass her by), she didn’t let it dull her spirit. She was affectionate and trusting from the very first day, and taking care of her created a bond that changed my life. Dusky is the heart of this brand who is a constant source of joy, comfort, and inspiration. She is usually curled up beside me on her hammock while I design new characters. Sometimes, when I go away from my keyboard though, she is off sending messages from my laptop!

Ichigo is a soft and squishy frog friend with a berry sweet twist! This shy, berry-topped frog with a heart as soft as his cheeks! He lives in a cozy strawberry patch and spends his days guiding lost critters, dreaming of sunshowers, and writing notes in his tiny "Bao-log."
He is a warm-hearted leader of the Baozai Friends crew, a soft bao-topped bear with a big dream: to help every animal find a loving home! When Bobo Bao was raised by a kind shelter when he was little, he made it his life mission to give back to animals who don’t have families yet! He loves soft blankets, shelter visits, and pets behind his ears.
Shorti-chan is a soft, cream-colored kitten with a love for baking, napping, and snuggling up in sunbeams. She proudly wears her strawberry shortcake like a crown, a gift from the first family who ever gave her a forever home. Now, she shares that same love by helping other animals find their place in the world.
